Fort Morgan Community Thanksgiving Dinner

THANK YOU to all who volunteered, cooked, cleaned-up and served. THANK YOU to all who donated food and funds to make this past Thanksgiving a great success. We fed close to 700 people this year and thanks to a very generous donation from Erhlich Toyota, we will be able to many people this coming year as well.

What began as a concern for families in need and those who had no one to share a meal with on Thanksgiving, Saint Charles organized the cooking and serving of about 120 people in the small cafeteria at Columbine Elementary back in 2001.  It provided nourishment for the body and also the soul as people came together in fellowship.

The tradition continues with our organizing of the Community Dinner; however, the numbers have grown, not only in those who partake of the meal, but the many volunteers that come together across Morgan County to cook and serve.  This past year saw the Community Dinner become part of United Way Morgan County. They will oversee the business side of the dinner, with members of the community and church continuing this wonderful event.
