“Empowered by the Holy Spirit, our vision as Daughters of the King is to know Jesus Christ, to make Him known to others, and to become reflections of God’s love throughout the world.” This is the Daughters of the King Mission Statement. The Order of the Daughters of the King is an international spiritual sisterhood of women dedicated to a life of prayer, service and evangelism. Today, membership includes women in the Anglican, Episcopal, Lutheran (ELCA) and Roman Catholic churches.
Our chapter at Saint Charles is named after Dorothy Day, a modern day “saint” whose life work with the marginalized and working poor ~ her nonviolent fight for equality and justice inspired us. We are one chapter within many in the assembled Diocese of Colorado, within Province VI of the Episcopal Church USA ~ under the guidance of the National Office of The Order of the Daughters of the King. We meet twice a month to tend to service projects and spiritual growth and to pray without ceasing for the needs of others. We hold sacred and confidential all prayer requests and seek to serve always For His Sake.
